The Montessorian approach may seem complex and rigorous at first. In fact, the key lies in listening to your child. Remember, we grow with them. By creating an environment where children can evolve, they explore and express themselves more. Let’s listen. Let’s observe them. Many cloth diaper enthusiasts are fans of the Montessori teaching method. I’m one of them. They’re two lifestyles that go well together.
I’m regularly asked how my son manages to be so independent and ‘easy-going’. I often respond with a joke: “It’s simple, it’s because he wears cloth diapers”! A child who feels good in his diapers, without skin irritations, is less irritable (no pun intended). He’s more likely to be attentive to learning and growing in his immediate environment. So it’s with great pleasure that I share with you a few activities from our daily routine, inspired by the Montessorian philosophy. He is 12-13 months old. I’m far from an expert. I’m inspired by this philosophy. Like many people, I take some and leave some. To each his own. With a minimum of creativity, using familiar objects in the home avoids breaking the bank.
My tips and tricks:
– Minimize cell phone, tablet and TV screens.– Avoid accumulating toys. Minimize as much as possible by hiding those that are not currently in use. – Rotate toys, books, etc. according to the child’s interests and needs. – Categorize toys. – Put things away as much as possible after an activity session. – Everything in its place. We always put toys away in the same place before bedtime. – Listen to the child, talk to him and remember that he understands much more than we think. So tell me: Do you Montessori? What are your Montessori-inspired activities? Don’t hesitate to share your experiences. I love reading your comments and private messages. You have such great ideas!
